The Bahirawakanda Buddha Statue stands beside the Sri Maha Bodhi Temple on Bahirawa Kanda hill – beautifully modelled, is depicts the Buddha seated in the Nirvana pose and stands t 88 feet high. It is touted as among the biggest Buddha statues in Sri Lanka, and can be seen from anywhere in Kandy. Bahirawa Kanda in Singhalese means Devil’s hill. You can climb further by by means of stairs that give you an even better panoramic view of Kandy. The temple of Bahirawa Kanda is open for worship, and you can offer flowers and candles.
