Did you know the Benaras Hindu University – or BHU – has over 30,000 students residing on its campus? That makes it the largest residential university in Asia. The institution was founded by activist Madan Mohan Malviya in 1916. His aim was to spearhead higher education in India. Today, BHU offers a comprehensive slate of academic options in the arts and science streams, including courses in the ancient language of India, Sanskrit.
