About 30 kilometres from Chikmagalur is the famous Veeranarayana Temple. It houses the stunning idol of Lord Krishna in shaligram stone, believed to be one of the most beautiful renditions of his avatar. Built in the Hoysala style of architecture, this ancient temple has beautifully carved pillars and a richly decorated roof.
